No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Board of Pardons and Paroles (BPP) to conduct a study on the effectiveness of the assessment components of the parole guidelines. The bill would require BPP to submit a report to certain offices no later than January 1, 2019. According to BPP, any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
