No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code requiring an employee who is a member of the Texas military forces when relieved of duty to be restored to the position they held when they were ordered to duty.  The bill would apply to an employee of this state, a municipality, a county, or another political subdivision of this state with at least five full time employees. 

The bill would take effect immediately if the bill receives a two-third vote in each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.


Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Municipal League, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
