No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require a nursing facility to draft a written notice stating whether the facility is certified to care for and treat residents with Alzheimer's and related disorders. The bill would require nursing facilities to provide the written notice to each resident or individual applying for services and display the written notice in a public area of the facility. The bill would also require the Executive Commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to adopt rules to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Based on the LBB's analysis of HHSC, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
