LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 27, 2017

TO:
Honorable Tracy O. King, Chair, House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2600 by Farrar (relating to the establishment of the Bee Pollinator Goals Task Force to develop and report on statewide pollinator goals.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Texas Agriculture Code by adding Section 131.011 to establish a Bee Pollinator Goals Task Force. The task force would be responsible for developing and reporting on statewide bee pollinator goals and metrics, and would be composed of members appointed by the governor from various state agencies. These state agencies would be required to provide administrative support to the task force. The task force would be required to submit a report to the members of the legislature not later than December 1 of each even-numbered year. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Based on analysis by the affected state agencies, this estimate assumes that implementing the provisions of the bill could be done using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
