LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 5, 2017

TO:
Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2667 by Lucio III (Relating to the provision of telecommunications services through statewide technology centers.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Subchapter L, pertaining to statewide technology centers, of Chapter 2054 of the Government Code to include within applicability of Subchapter L telecommunications services provided under Chapter 2170, advanced communications services, and information services, as those terms are defined by 47 U.S.C. Section 153. The Department of Information Resources indicates that costs to implement the bills provisions would be absorbed within existing resources and would not have a significant impact to the statewide data center services program.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
