HB2731 by Lucio III (Relating to state agency contracts with the United States Postal Service.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 2163 of the Government Code regarding commercially available activities.

The bill would authorize a state agency to contract with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to provide the public at one or more facilities operated by USPS in Texas a service the agency is required or authorized by law to regularly provide.  The bill would make a state agency, that enters into such a contract, responsible for providing the service required by the contract and require the agency to set measurable performance standards for USPS in the contract.

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.

The Texas General Land Office and Comptroller of Public Accounts indicate that the bill would have no fiscal impact on the respective agency.
