HB2757 by Turner (Relating to the donation of sick leave by state employees.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code regarding state employees' use of donated sick leave. Under the provisions of the bill, employees would be permitted to receive and use donated sick leave if the employee or the employee's immediate family member is experiencing a medical emergency and the employee can provide a written statement from the treating licensed practitioner regarding the medical emergency. The bill also defines medical emergency.

The Comptroller of Public Accounts and State Auditor's Office indicate that the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
