HB2936 by Deshotel (Relating to the administration of the Port of Port Arthur Navigation District of Jefferson County, including the authority to impose taxes.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 197, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963, allowing the commissioner of the Port of Port Arthur Navigation district to receive compensation and benefits set by the Board of Port Commissioners.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
