No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend an existing misdemeanor defined in the Election Code to allow a county election administrator to be a candidate for and to hold a nonpartisan public office in a county other than that in which the official is the county election administrator.
The bill would remove certain actions from categorization as a Class A misdemeanor and is therefore anticipated to have no significant fiscal impact to state government.
This bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
