IN RE:
HB3060 by Hinojosa, Gina (Relating to an opportunity to correct a defect in an early voting ballot voted by mail.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code requiring the signature verification committee and/or the early voting ballot board to contact the voter to correct a defect.

According to the Secretary of State, the agency would be able to implement the provisions of the bill with existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to Hunt County, the fiscal impact could be substantial in resources needed to track down a voter to correct a ballot and would present significant logistical problems for the county.

According to Fort Bend County, the bill would have a significant fiscal impact but the cost cannot be estimated at this time.
