HB3074 by Rodriguez, Eddie (Relating to compensation to be paid to an emergency services district for a municipality's annexation of the district's territory.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code relating to the compensation to be paid to an emergency services district for a municipality annexation of the district's territory. The bill would add the total amount of the district sales and use tax revenue collected in the preceding 12 months to both the numerator and denominator of the calculation.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to Texas Municipal League, the fiscal impact of the bill cannot be determined but the impact would be greater in municipalities that collect substantial sales tax.
