HB3126 by Nevárez (Relating to the Jeff Davis County Underground Water Conservation District; authorizing a fee.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Special District Local Laws Code by adding Chapter 8891 relating to Jeff Davis County Underground Water Conservation District. The district may not impose taxes in the district. The district may assess a fee not greater than $1 per acre-foot for water used for agriculture use or 17 cents per 1,000 gallons for water used for any other purpose.

The bill would repeal Chapter 641, Acts of the 73rd Legislature, Regular Session 1993 relating to the establishment of the Jeff Davis County Underground Water Conservation District.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. 

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
