No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend Health and Safety Code section 36.004 to allow an individual who attends a public or private school to be screened using photoscreening to detect vision disorders. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

According to the Health and Human Services Commission, Department of State Health Services, and the Texas Education Agency, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
