IN RE:
HB3209 by Gonzales, Larry (Relating to the consideration for public school accountability purposes of certain students participating in regional day school programs for the deaf.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Education Code to remove students participating in Regional Day School Programs for the Deaf (RDSPD) from the district and campus of service for accountability purposes if the student's parent or person standing in parental relation to the student does not reside in the school district providing program services. Based on information provided by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), it is assumed that the bill would result in no fiscal impact to TEA.
The bill would take effect immediately if it received a vote of two-thirds of all elected members of each chamber of the Legislature, or otherwise on September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
