IN RE:
HB3222 by Goldman (Relating to the availability under the public information law of certain documents filed with a county clerk or a district clerk.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to prohibit the disclosure of certain personal identification and contact information of a current legal spouse of certain public servants whose personal identification and contact information is generally exempted from public disclosure. The bill would eliminate two subsections currently exempting documents filed with a county clerk or district clerk from this general exception. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Association of Counties, the bill could have a significant fiscal impact on county clerk offices.
