No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Texas Occupations Code, Section 1951.104 to require that, before the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) proposes a new rule, the structural pest control advisory committee must vote on whether to recommend adoption of the rule, and would require the committee to provide the resulting recommendation within 60 days of receiving the proposed rule. The bill would additionally allow the committee to review a completed disciplinary investigation file on request of the presiding officer of the committee. The bill would amend Texas Occupations Code, Section 1951.105 to allow the committee to elect a presiding officer and allow that person to set the agenda, and would allow items to be added at the request of TDA. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.
