No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Subchapter B of Chapter 2269 of the Government Code, regarding contracting and delivery procedures for construction projects.

The bill would authorize a governmental entity to implement a prequalification process to eliminate unqualified offerors from consideration for a civil works project and specify requirements and authorizations with regards to the process.

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.
