No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code and Health and Safety Code expanding the communicable disease prevention pilot program. The bill would apply only to Bexar, Dallas, Harris, and Travis Counties. The pilot program would expire September 1, 2027.
According to the Department of State Health Services any cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
