FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB3337 by Bonnen, Dennis (Relating to the eligibility of certain persons to teach a driver education course.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Education Code to allow a parent who has a disability to designate a person who is 25 years of age or older to conduct a parent-taught driver education course. The bill would also amend the Transportation Code by repealing the provision allowing a driver education course provider to administer certain parts of the examination required by Section 521.161. It is assumed the costs to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
