HB3359 by Cosper (Relating to providing information on the National Marrow Donor Program in driver's license offices and on driver's license and personal identification certificate applications.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to make available in a publicly accessible area of a driver's license office certain informational materials on the National Marrow Donor Program. The bill would require DPS to include space on each application for a new or renewal driver's license or personal identification certificate that informs the applicant of the existence of the National Marrow Donor Program, the contact information for the program, and a description of the program's purpose. It is assumed the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
