Fiscal Analysis
The bill would require the Texas Board of Criminal Justice to sell real property, as described in the bill, in Brazoria County through the General Land Office (GLO) if the Board receives a bid of at least $740,000.
Methodology
Assuming a sales transaction occurs, there would be a one-time General Revenue Fund gain of $740,000 or more to the Department of Criminal Justice. For purposes of this analysis the sale of property is assumed in fiscal year 2018. Any costs associated with the sale of the property could be absorbed within existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
