HB3428 by Collier ( Relating to minimum standards regarding the continuity of prescription medications for the care and treatment of county jail prisoners.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS) to adopt rules and procedures regarding the continuity of prescription medications in county jails. TCJS indicates that any costs associated with the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, Denton County reported the bill would have a significant fiscal impact on the county as the result of an increase in prescription drugs provided.
