LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 25, 2017

TO:
Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3453 by Landgraf (Relating to the regulation of game rooms in certain counties. ), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to extend an existing authorization to regulate the operation of game rooms in certain counties to include certain additional counties.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house.  If it does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, it would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
