IN RE:
HB3538 by Minjarez (Relating to post-discharge services offered by a juvenile board or juvenile probation department to a child after the child's probation period ends.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to define post-discharge services and specify a maximum amount of time that a child may participate. The bill would prohibit the juvenile board or juvenile probation department from requiring a child's participation in the services. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, Trusteed Programs within the Office of the Governor, and the Juvenile Justice Department, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
