IN RE:
HB3657 by Bonnen, Dennis (Relating to the issuance of specialty license plates for justices of the peace.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code, Chapter 504, Subchapter E, to require the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) to issue specialty license plates for current justices of the peace of Texas. Under current law in Subchapter E, the specialty plate would be issued without payment of an additional fee for the plate and with payment of the regular vehicle registration fee. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Based on LBB's analysis of the information by TxDMV, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
