No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code allowing certain municipalities to establish homestead preservation districts and reinvestment zones. The bill would apply to the City of San Antonio.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts the City of San Antonio indicated the bill would have a positive impact on the city's economic development and housing affordability goals.
