No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the notice of rights provided to an injured employee under the Texas workers' compensation system. Based on information provided by the Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) and Texas Department of Insurance, this analysis assumes the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
 
The Public Counsel of OIEC would be required to adopt the notice required under the provisions of the bill not later than December 1, 2017. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
