The bill would amend the Education Code to allow existing private or public community-based dropout recovery programs to be offered at a campus, or through the use of an online program that leads to a high school diploma and prepares the student to enter the workforce.
Local Government Impact
School districts would be permitted, but not required, to use a private or public community-based dropout recovery education program that is offered through the use of an online program that leads to a high school diploma and prepares the student to enter the workforce. Costs associated with school district participation would be voluntary and nominal.
