Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 28, 2017

TO:
Honorable Joe Moody, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3773 by Allen (Relating to certain persons arrested under a warrant.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the arrest of a person in a county other than the county that issued the arrest warrant.  The bill clarifies permissible delays before the person is to be taken before a magistrate; and the amount of time for a person to be discharged from custody after the charge or warrant is disposed of or adjudicated.

The Office of Court Administration anticipates no significant fiscal impact from the bill to the state and local court systems.

Local Government Impact

According to Dallas County, no significant fiscal impact anticipated.
