No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code prohibiting a municipality or county from enforcing a regulation adopted after September 1, 2017 that restricts or prohibits the use or development of the property if the property owner acquired the title before the regulation was adopted.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Municipal League, the fiscal impact to municipalities cannot be determined at this time.
According to the Texas Association of Counties, the fiscal impact to counties is not anticipated to be significant.
