No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Human Resources Code relating to child-to-caregiver ratios and group sizes in licensed day-care centers and reporting certain information related to child safety. Based on information provided by the Department of Family and Protective Services and the Health and Human Services Commission, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately upon a vote of two-thirds of each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
