No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the regulation of fireworks. It adds definitions related to locations that sell fireworks. It defines the offices that may be considered "fire prevention officers." It amends the fee collection procedures for inspection of these facilities. It requires certain characteristics of construction for indoor retail fireworks sites.
This bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house. If the bill does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect it takes effect September 1, 2017.
