HB3997 by Raymond (Relating to fees imposed by a county for licensing a junkyard or automotive wrecking and salvage yard.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Transportation Code to amend an existing authorization to collect a fee for the issuance or renewal of a license to operate a junkyard.  It would authorize a potentially higher license fee in certain counties.

According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, there would be no significant impact to the state.

This bill would  take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, there would be no significant impact to units of local government.

According to the Webb County auditor, the bill would have a positive fiscal impact on Webb County, generating approximately $200,000 per year for fiscal years 2018 to 2022.
