No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code relating to certain research-based practices for use by public school personnel. The Department of State Health Services and the Texas Education Agency indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Based on the LBB's analysis of the Health and Human Services Commission, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
