IN RE:
HB4165 by Howard (Relating to the placement of certain highway signs that promote businesses or provide other information.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 391 of the Transportation Code to stipulate that rules adopted by the Texas Transportation Commission relating to specific information logo signs may not allow the placement of certain types of signs at location that is in an area designated as a "Hill Country Scenic Roadway" by a municipal ordinance and along a highway with an average daily traffic volume of fewer than 100,000 vehicles.
The Texas Department of Transportation assumes that any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
