HB4261 by Elkins (Relating to the transparent disclosure of Internet advertising practices.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code to require any online advertising platform that sells goods or services in Texas to prominently disclose any restrictions it has on the goods and services that it advertises.

The Office of the Attorney General anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
