No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code, Government Code and Local Government Code relating to the electronic filing of reports of political contributions and expenditures and of personal financial statements by certain officeholders and candidates and the content of those statements; creating a criminal offense. The Ethics Commission, Office of Court Administration, Texas Judicial Council and Department of Criminal Justice have indicated that any costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. 

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
