No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code to require state agencies to adopt policies regarding employee leave, apply certain conditions to the use of emergency leave, and require reporting on the use of emergency leave. The bill would also require the Comptroller to adopt a uniform system for agencies to report employee leave taken.

Multiple agencies indicate that they could absorb the costs associated with the bill within their current resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
