No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require applicants for an original commercial driver license to provide evidence of having completed a course on the recognition and prevention of human trafficking that has been approved by the Department of Public Safety.
The bill would take effect immediately upon a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each chamber. If not, then the bill would take effect September 1 2017.
