No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the administrative closure of certain reported cases of child abuse or neglect made to the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Based on information provided by DFPS, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote in each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
