SB517 by Garcia ( Relating to the compensation provided to the governing body of certain special districts.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to increase the per diem compensation for Emergency Service Commissioners.

The compensation for these position is funded through local revenue and as a result no significant fiscal impact on the state is anticipated.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to Harris County, the bill would have no fiscal impact to the county.

According to information obtained from Emergency Service Districts in Harris and Travis counties the additional compensation costs from the bill are not anticipated to be significant.
