No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to step therapy protocols required by a health benefit plan in connection with prescription drug coverage. Based on information provided by the Texas Department of Insurance, Employees Retirement System, Texas A&M University System Administration, and The University of Texas System Administration, it is assumed that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
