No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would remove the requirement that a student in the Foundation High School Program successfully complete English I, II, and III prior to enrolling in an advanced English course and removes the requirements that a student successfully complete Algebra I and Geometry prior to enrolling in an advanced Mathematics course. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
