SB854 by Nelson (Relating to the purchase of food and beverages by the Texas Division of Emergency Management for certain personnel.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to expand the existing authority for the Department of Public Safety's Division of Emergency Management to use appropriated funds to purchase food and beverages for Department of Public Safety personnel solely from those engaged disaster response to also include those engaged in emergency response. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of this bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

This bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members
elected to each chamber. Otherwise, this bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
