IN RE:
SB919 by Rodríguez (Relating to the authority of an advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant to sign a death certificate or out-of-hospital do-not-resuscitate order.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to authorize physician assistants and advanced practice registered nurses to sign a death certificate or out-of-hospital do-not-resuscitate order. The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds majority vote of both houses. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Based on the LBB's analysis of the Department of State Health Services, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
