IN RE:	SB1119 by Zaffirini (Relating to an annual report on employment positions provided through the Texas college work-study program.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to submit an annual report on the Texas College Work Study Program to the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, the Speaker of the House, and to the legislative committees with jurisdiction over higher education. The bill specifies the type of information that would have to be included in the report, including demographic and other data.

The bill would take immediate effect if it receives a two-thirds vote of both houses of the Legislature. Otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2017.  The first report as required by the bill would be due by September 1, 2018.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
