IN RE:
SB1233 by Rodríguez (Relating to a writ of mandamus by a court of appeals against certain judges.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to authorize a court of appeals to issue a writ of mandamus against an associate judge of a district or county court appointed under chapter 201 of the Family Code if that associate judge was appointed by a judge within the court of appeal's district. The bill would also expand authorization for a court of appeals to issue a writ of mandamus to a judge of a statutory county or statutory probate court within the court of appeals district. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
