No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to permit the admissibility of evidence in criminal cases involving allegations of assault in the context of family relationships and certain other relationships to reach charges of injury to a child, to an elderly individual, and to a disabled individual. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
