No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would create a joint interim committee to study the state's ability to respond to modifications to federal health care laws. The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), and other appropriate agencies to collaborate with the committee to conduct a study. Based on information provided by HHSC and TDI, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities necessary to implement the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing staff and resources.
