FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB1500 by Zaffirini (Relating to certain vehicle protection products.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would repeal Chapter 2306 of the Occupations Code and amend the Business & Commerce Code and Finance Code relating to certain vehicle protection products. The bill would repeal the authority of the Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to regulate vehicle protection product warrantors, which TDLR estimates would result in a loss to General Revenue of $36,300 per fiscal year.
TDLR estimates there would be minimal savings associated with implementing the provisions of the bill. The Office of the Attorney General anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
